I stepped into my closet and rediscovered this charming little piggy bank I had lovingly purchased for my daughter just days after her birth. She had broken it by trying to put two quarters through the slot, but I carefully glued it back together and kept it safe after gently teaching her the importance of handling it with care. It’s been 28 incredible years since we’ve had this piggy. It’s now a treasured vintage Lefton China piece. This little piggy brings back heartwarming memories of my little girl eagerly asking for quarters to put in her bank.

To this day, after 28 years, she still asks me for quarters if she sees them on the table. Never dimes or nickels but quarters. I always say, “Take them.” And now that she’s 28, I put the occasional $20 or $50 bill in it for her to find that money in it when she asks for her Lefton Piggy Bank to take with her to her own home.
Do you have a vintage piece you’ve been holding on to for your child? If so, let’s talk about it in the comments!
