We recently purchased a home for our daughter  just near her university. Caught up in the usual whirlwind of closing, moving and home improvement, I was inspired to write this New Apartment Shopping Guide for those of you that may be moving to your very first place i.e. starting off on your own. We’re all busy and we often look up guides online in hope to find a list of things we need and could make the transition easier. I chose to create a guide for what we need to be comfortable. Why? I recently went to the new house and found myself wondering  where all the usual commodities were – food containers, food storage items and other things that I deemed absolutely necessary to be “All Set” in a new apartment. I went shopping that day without hesitation because this was where my child was living and I wanted her to be comfortable, just as she was at home.

 Parents, this is important for you and your child. You can use it whether they are moving out of dorm-living or just starting out in their first place after school.
