Dark Blue Walls
Design & Order is a blog series I created for personal topics: My trials and triumphs while dealing with my nightmare client – my husband! Married to a designer, he’s a joker, and a prankster whom is constantly trying to make me laugh because I take everything so seriously. He has made it his job to make things easy because every response is indirect and it leaves it open to interpretation. I always choose to go with positive outcomes.
My husband says being married to a designer is hard.
Today, I approached him about painting the master bathroom a dark blue. Here’s how that turned out:
The moment he saw the blue, he turned and walked away so fast, it was the fastest I’ve ever seen him walk! I laughed so hard at the “Heck no!” expression on his face!
“I thought you liked dark blue walls! You always say you don’t like bright rooms and want dark spaces!”
He circles the kitchen twice without a single word. Then he came back and said, “You’re a designer. You can be as loopy and crazy as you want!” He was dead serious.
My jaw dropped open and I laughed. “Oh, that’s evil!”
”-But it’s true.” His eyes met mine and slowly, a smile crept across his mouth. “No, it’s good. I think. Can’t picture it but I’m not a designer. If you feel it’s right, do what you want.”
